The third "Marburger Arbeitsgemeinschaft Mathematik" ("MAM III") will take place in Marburg from Monday, February 24th to Friday, February 28th, 2025.
Each Marburger Arbeitsgemeinschaft Mathematik has as topic an important unsolved question in pure mathematics, with the aim of giving the participants a complete picture of its state of the art. No speakers are invited; instead, the participants of the workshop can apply for a talk.
In its third installment, we will discuss classical and recent results on the geometry and topology of quaternion-Kähler manifolds, with a particular emphasis on results in the vicinity of the LeBrun-Salamon conjecture, stating that every quaternion-Kähler manifold with positive scalar curvature is symmetric, i.e., a Wolf space. The first talks of the meeting will give an introduction to quaternion-Kähler geometry.
Unfortunately, we cannot reimburse travel or accommodation costs.
Ilka Agricola, Giovanni Bazzoni, Oliver Goertsches, Panagiotis Konstantis, Sönke Rollenske, Uwe Semmelmann
Previous events
MAM I in March 2017 was devoted to the "(Non-)existence of complex structures on the 6-sphere".
MAM II in March 2022 was devoted to the "Toral rank conjecture".
Thank you all for coming!
Simon Salamon kindly offered to substitute for a speaker who fell ill
