Issa is one of my childhood friends we met when i was about 12 years old,he was born in the same city that i was born in which is nablus,in general he is a guy who is an independent guy and the cool thing about him that he never misses a chance and i can say that he is just like me we never consider dreams as we consider our goals so dreams fade but goals stay, Issa is smart guy but he always think about getting married early and settle down with a nice looking women so that can be something that i hope he consider planning for it later.
Issa is an a**hole sometimes but deep down he is the kindest guy i have ever met he is a hard working guy, he always thinks about others before he thinks about himself, he lived in the united states in the past when he was a kid Issa is now 19 years, issa lived his childhood in the states in the north side of the city of chicago issa left the united states in 2005 , then moved with his family to live in Nablus ,Issa loved nablus and he loved their favorite dish [konafa] issa had trouble speaking and writing arabic his parents decided to put him in an english catholic school to learn arabic and french ,it took issa a while till he understood the middle eastern culture ,issa settled in there easily he even got a lot of friends in the city of nablus he was a mature person ,he took care of their family business ,in 2013 after his mom got sick issa and his family decided to move back to the united states, they moved to the north side of chicago this is where he studied most of his high school and did his education. issa moved to the south suburbs and settled in palos heights issa now is a full time student in moraine valley community college and he has a part time job in oak brook mall his dream is to become an entrepreneur in business.
But as time passed everything changed for both of us,especially for him i can’t describe it but i will say this, his mom was diagnosed with bones osteoporosis which basically makes the bones so weak and breaks easily so for him it was a hard time for him so they moved here in 2013 to get his mom a better hospital treatment and thankfully things went for the better and his mom got better, later on he got the chance to study in a university in new york for a half paid scholarship but he actually refused just to stay close to his mom and family and i remember him telling me this on the phone ”i can never leave my mom, how am i gonna wake up every day without seeing her beautiful smile?” and that reminded me of the value and the love for our mothers and how issa appreciates all that and by time passes issa surprises me more and more of what he is becoming today.
3 years ago we crossed by each other randomly at the orland square mall and it took us a few seconds to realize that we actually met after a couple of years so he invited me to their house and we ate dinner together with his family and stayed for the whole day and after a few days we went for a road trip and even camped outside and therefore our friendship became stronger by time, and he stayed here in chicago and i went back and few months i came back here and saw him again and i was actually so happy to see that me and him are studying at the same school(moraine valley community college) so since i came here we do everything together and even studying together but at the same time he never changed since day one he still has some problems and bad habits and i always tell him to stop for example smoking or play less video games and that’s something i want him to rethink about it but it’s funny tho how we see each other and after a while our personal lives makes us busy and just move away for a while.
Issa always likes to go fishing in the summer and i remember one day we went to lake michigan where we stayed for hours just try and catch a fish and the only thing we learned was “patience” and after all i am still learning new stuff about and so is he learning about me.
