Prof. Gaddam Mallesham is a distinguished academician, researcher, and administrator serving as Professor in the Department of Electrical Engineering, University College of Engineering, Osmania University, Hyderabad. With over 23 years of experience in teaching, research & development, consultancy, and industry collaboration, he has made significant contributions to engineering education, research, and institutional development.

Prof. Mallesham completed his Post-Doctoral Fellowship at the Yale School of Engineering & Applied Science, Yale University, USA. He earned his Ph.D. and Master of Engineering degrees from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi and obtained his Bachelor of Engineering degree from the University College of Engineering, Osmania University.

Throughout his career at Osmania University, Prof. Mallesham has held several key leadership positions, including Dean, Development & UGC Affairs; Director (I/C), University Electrical Division; Director (I/C); Chairperson, Board of Studies; and Head of the Department of Electrical Engineering. He has also served in various academic, professional, and administrative roles at state and national levels.

An active member of the professional engineering community, Prof. Mallesham has served as Vice-Chair and General Secretary of the IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES)/ Industry Applications Society (IAS) and Power Electronics Society (PEL) Joint Chapter, IEEE Hyderabad Section. He is also associated with leading professional bodies including IEEE, IET, IEI, and ISC.

His research interests include Artificial Intelligence, Advanced Optimal Control, and their applications in Power Engineering. He has published 81+ research papers in reputable international journals and conferences, including IEEE and IET publications, authored online books, secured two patents, and successfully executed several consultancy and R&D projects with industry. He is currently associated with innovative projects including intelligent traffic signal control systems.

Prof. Mallesham has guided 9 Ph.D. scholars to completion, with 5 additional Ph.D. theses submitted, and has supervised over 25 Master's dissertations. He has also served as Convener, Coordinator, Chairperson, and Resource Person for numerous international and national conferences, workshops, and academic events.

In recognition of his outstanding contributions to education and research, he has received several prestigious honors, including the Government of Telangana Best Teacher Award (2020), Institution of Engineers (India) Engineer of the Year Award (2019), Vice-Chancellor Research Excellence and Patent Awards (2022 and 2023), POSOCO National Best Ph.D. Thesis Award in Electrical Engineering (2013), Raman Fellowship from UGC, and the INSA Best Young Scientist Presentation Award (2012).

Prof. Mallesham has represented India in numerous academic and research engagements across the globe, including visits to the United States, Canada, Greece, Finland, Sweden, Estonia, Tunisia, South Africa, the United Arab Emirates, and several other countries, fostering international collaborations and knowledge exchange.
