Project Title: A Buzzworthy Cause
Students at RMA compete on various teams in different subject matter. We do not have a set of buzzers like that are used in bowl competitions for students to practice with. The goal of these buzzers is the help students prepare for a real life competition with the tools they will have to use during the actual bowl.
Practice like you play drives a lot of teams who compete successfully. The buzzer system that I propose to be purchased will help bowl teams do just that: practice like they play, giving them a competitive edge they were lacking before.
Goals:
Provide real life competition scenarios for student bowl teams.
Allow for competitions within the classroom to take place with the use of more realistic setups.
Could be used to help host a bowl competition at school for a district wide competition.
Objectives:
Implement a real life competition scenario for competing students.
Incorporate a buzzer system into the classroom so that students gain an interest in competing in bowl competitions.
Phase 1: Purchasing and Setup (Month 1)
Purchase set of 16 buzzers, enough for four groups of four.
Implement use at bowl team practice.
Phase 2: Classroom Integration (Months 2-12)
Introduce buzzers into classroom competitions.
Remind students that bowl teams compete in similar situations to increase participation and interest in joining bowl teams at RMA.
Phase 3: Assessment and Reflection
Gather bowl results to see if the buzzers provided the anticipated competitive edge.
Account for membership of bowl teams to see if an increase resulted after using the buzzer system in the classroom.

This project is designed for long-term sustainability. The buzzers are intended to be used multiple times by many different students in different classrooms. These buzzers have the longevity to be used for many years.
Funding the proposal will help students develop better competition skills, as well as increase interest in joining bowl teams making this a buzzworthy cause.
