This is my home on the web with info about my work as a writer and educator in the Seattle area. I focus on Project Based Learning in the Humanities to cultivate creatitivity and critical thinking. I've taught for five years at the College, High School and Middle School levels in classrooms and one on one with twice exceptional, gifted students. 

My approach to teaching is based upon a fundamental commitment to student engagement and active learning. The best teachers awaken a sense of joy, creation and innovation. They challenge us; they make us believe; they inspire a sense of inquiry; and, they bring a sense of purpose and relevance to our personal experiences. 

I love working with students and helping them discover their passions and strengths to apply their knowledge and learn by doing. I firmly believe in the motto that "Education is the kindling of a flame, not the filling of a vessel".
