The Malaysian Blind Sports Association (MBSA) was founded in early 2010 to meet the growing need for organised sports options for Malaysia's visually impaired people. Recognizing the importance of inclusion in sports, a group of dedicated supporters and stakeholders formed the association with the goal of providing a platform for blind and partially sighted athletes.
In its early years, the MBSA concentrated on creating awareness about the skills of visually impaired athletes and encouraging participation in a variety of sports. The group arranged the first contests and training programs, which helped to develop talent and foster a supportive community around blind sports.
MBSA's reach and effect grew over time, as it formed ties with schools, local sports clubs, and government agencies. This relationship aided the creation of structured training programs and improved participation in national and international contests. Notably, the MBSA played an important role in preparing Malaysian athletes for prominent events like as the Paralympics, where they demonstrated their abilities on a global scale.
Throughout its history, the MBSA has been dedicated to advocacy and education, aiming to shift society conceptions of disability in athletics. Today, the association is still growing, working to empower visually challenged people through sports and promote an inclusive culture throughout Malaysia.
As of 2nd April 2025, our official website is blindsportsmalaysia.org.
