Privacy Policy – Malaysia Visa Check
Creativeline built the Malaysia Visa Check app ("the App") as a free, ad-supported app. This page explains what information is handled when you use the App.
Not a government app
The App is NOT an official government app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing the Government of Malaysia, the Immigration Department of Malaysia (Jabatan Imigresen Malaysia) or any other government agency. The App only opens official public websites (listed in the App under About › Information sources and in the Google Play description) and one clearly marked third-party website.
Information we collect
We (the developer) do not ask for, collect, store or receive any personal information. The App has no account or login.
When you type a passport number, application number, IC number or any other detail, you type it directly into the official website that opens in your browser (Chrome Custom Tabs). That information goes only to that website — never to us.
Information stored on your device
The App saves a few things on your phone only: your chosen language, whether the welcome message was shown, simple counters used to decide when to show the Google Play review prompt, and any expiry reminders you add (document type, expiry date and your optional note). This data is never sent to us. It is deleted when you uninstall the App, unless you have turned on your phone's own Google backup, which may keep a private copy in your Google account. You can delete a reminder at any time inside the App.
Device features and permissions
• Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS): used only for (1) the expiry reminders you create and (2) the optional weekly tip (one notification per week with a scam alert, a worker right or a Malay phrase), which is sent only if you say yes and can be switched off any time in Settings › Weekly tips. Tips are stored inside the App — no data is sent to create them, and notifications never contain ads. You can refuse the permission; the rest of the App still works.
• Text-to-speech: the Malay phrasebook uses your phone's built-in text-to-speech engine. Speech is generated on your device.
• Phone and maps: tapping Call opens your phone dialer with the number filled in (the App never places calls itself), and tapping Map opens your maps app. The App does not access your location or contacts.
• Internet: used to load ads and to open websites.
Third-party services
The App uses these Google services, which may collect information as described in their own policies:
• Google AdMob (advertising) — may collect device identifiers such as the Advertising ID, IP address, approximate location derived from IP, app interactions and diagnostic information to show, limit and measure ads.
• Google User Messaging Platform — shows the ad consent form where required and stores your choice.
• Google Play In-App Review — shows the Play Store rating dialog.

Ads and your choices
If you are in the EEA, UK, Switzerland or a region with similar privacy laws, the App asks for your consent before showing personalised ads. You can change your choice at any time in Settings › Ad privacy settings.
You can also reset or delete your Advertising ID, or opt out of personalised ads, in your phone's Android settings (Settings › Privacy › Ads, or Settings › Google › Ads).
Links to other websites
The App opens official Malaysian government websites, embassy websites, and one clearly marked third-party website (lakyit.com) in your browser. These websites are not operated by us and have their own privacy policies; we are not responsible for their content or practices.
Sharing and sale of data
We (the developer) do not receive, sell or rent any personal information. The Google Mobile Ads SDK inside the App collects the data listed above and shares it with Google for advertising, analytics and fraud prevention, as described in Google's privacy policy.
Data deletion right
You have the right to access, correct, object to, or erase your data. The App does not send any personal data to us, so we do not keep any data about you on our servers. Data saved inside the App (language, reminders, settings) stays on your phone — you can delete a reminder inside the App, or delete everything by clearing the App's storage (Android Settings › Apps › Malaysia Visa Check › Storage › Clear storage) or by uninstalling the App. Advertising data is held by Google — you can reset or delete your Advertising ID in your phone's settings and manage your Google data at https://myaccount.google.com. If you have any request about your data, email us at metulromel@gmail.com and we will reply as soon as possible.
Security
All links in the App use secure HTTPS connections. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we use standard Android security practices.
Children
The App is intended for adults (foreign workers, employers and students). It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes are posted on this page with a new effective date.
