I am Malabi Dass, a Visiting Assistant Professor in the Economics Department at St Olaf College. I completed my PhD in Economics from Oklahoma State University in 2023.
My research involves a range of Applied Microeconomic issues with special focus on the impact of international trade on child health and economic mobility in Indonesia. Other than developmental issues, my work incorporates Gender, International (trade) economics and Labor Economics. Additionally, some of my research overlaps with Urban Development and Planning. I have collaborated with both colleagues and non-profit organizations and published in reputed Economics journals.
Currently, I am teaching Principles of Economics (Micro & Macro), Urban Economics and a unique course on Trade, Development and Gender. I have experience teaching Intermediate Microeconomics and Gender Economics.I am also collaborating with undergraduate students on various research related activities and serving as an academic advisor.
