Makoto Nakajima



Welcome to my homepage! I am Vice President and Economist at the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) of Philadelphia. In Research Department, I am Head of Monetary and Macroeconomics Section. My main research interests are macroeconomics, especially the interplays between heterogeneity/inequality and macroeconomic dynamics, and computational methods. I am also affiliated with the Opportunity and Inclusive Growth Institute (OIGI) of the FRB Minneapolis, and Human Capital and Economic Opportunity Global Working Group (HCEO) at the University of Chicago. Before I joined the FRB Philadelphia, I was Assistant Professor of Economics at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign (UIUC). I have a PhD in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania.
