Today we woke up, still in Paris, and quickly got ready for the day. After a quick breakfast—may I say an incredible breakfast, we left the house. I've been obsessed with these small bread loaves, that when layered with butter and jam, is so so good. Anyways, that's what I had to eat, with a glass of orange juice of course. The metro ride was about 15 minutes to Montmartre and when we got off, we met up with Emily’s cousin. She was very nice and lived in Paris the entire year. She had a load of fun sights to show us.
The first place we went was a boulangerie that can be seen in the show Adventures of Ladybug and Cat Noir. My best friend, Petra, is absolutely obsessed with the show, so she was so happy that I was able to send photos of it back to her. I didn't get anything fancy, just a pain au chocolat, but it was pretty nice. Afterwards, we went on a walk in a really nice neighborhood. It had various lookout spots peering over Paris.
As we walked through the lookout spots, I was enchanted by the beautiful gardens. We even looked at a beautiful windmill that was right next to the house of a famous French Youtuber. I forget his name already, but I know people are obsessed with his content. Later on, we got some lunch at this small cafe. It was kind of a bummer because they only had four items on the menu, but it was nice to try something new even though what I ordered wasn't my fav.
Anyways, later on we returned to the house and the kids all made Mexican food together. I'm pretty sure they don't eat this food often because it was sort of strange. Living in California, we get such a strong Mexican influence so Mexican food is so so good. The fajitas we made were not the best, but it was fun making them with everyone and listening to music the whole evening. I chilled a lot that night and after taking a shower, I went to bed.
The next morning, we got up early because we were going home. I wish we could’ve stayed longer in Paris, but we had many plans this week! I had my new fav breakfast—the small French rolls dressed with tons of butter and strawberry jam—then we quickly went on an excursion to Les Champs Elysees. I really wanted to check out the PSG store of France’s national soccer team. I bought a white t-shirt by myself (With tax included?? How easy! Take some notes America!), then my host mom bought me a PSG jersey! She promised that she would get my name embroidered on the back, along with my favorite number after we arrived home in Lille. At around 11 am we took the metro back to the train station, and finally made our way back North. On the ride home, I was so exhausted and took a fat nap the entire way. It was nice to see my friend’s dad and sister again.
That night, we watched a soccer game and ate lasagna for dinner. Then I took my shower and spent some time by myself decompressing and talking to my family. As always, I stayed up pretty late before finally falling asleep. I had a wonderful few days in Paris.
