Mario Jativa earned his bachelor's degree in music education from California State University Long Beach in 2009. He earned his masters degree in conducting from the American Band College of Sam Houston State University in 2017. Mario is currently the Director of Instrumental Music at La Mesa Arts Academy, a position he has held since the school's inception in 2013. At LMAAC, he created a jazz band that has been featured throughout the community including Petco Park and La Mesa's Holiday in the Village. Each year, Mario produces a winter and spring concert extravaganza for parents and community members alike.
