Lenore “Lenny” Mary Lafferty Vega was a mom, wife, sister, god-mom, teacher and friend. She was loyal, passionate, adventurous, and caring. She built a career as a pediatric physical therapist, helping children and families to blossom; helping others was one of her core values. Lenore was always known for being a great listener, a ride-or-die friend, a pillar of stability in the lives of so many. She was someone you could rely on when things were tricky. Lenny was always there to remind you, “to make the magic happen,” a reminder that the power and magic is already within you.

Lenny was diagnosed with cancer in January 2020. Soon after, her family, and the world, went into quarantine due to Covid-19. Even from inside the walls of her home she continued to spread magic. She donned a hot pink wig and a tye-dye sweatsuit while she called friends, zoomed with her nieces and nephews, and lounged on her chaise in the backyard while family barbecued. Lenore lost her life in July 2020. Lenore’s battle against cancer was short but she never wavered; she was brave, she was strong, she was magical.
