Ideas to take action
Picking up litter: Picking up litter can make such a big difference to a community. Not only is it making sure your community is clean, but it is also making sure wildlife is safe.
Conserving water: Ways to conserve water are to take shorter showers, not run the sink when it's not necessary, be careful when watering the lawn, and not flush excessively. There are many other ways too, but those are just some I could think of. This is important because fresh water is like liquid gold. It is so important to try to conserve it because even though it seems like it, there isn't an endless supply.
Biking/walking places: Biking and walking can be an amazing alternative to driving somewhere. You can also run, skate, scooter, etc. A single drive obviously won't harm the environment much, but when you put together everyone driving it adds up. You can make a small difference by choosing a green way to travel. Maybe others will even be inspired by you and do the same.
Recycling: Recycling is such a simple thing to do, but can go such a long way. There are multiple ways you can recycle. One way is composting, another is reusing/repurposing things, and finally just separating your trash and recycling. This is a very good habit to have so if you don't already, start today.
Planting greenery: Planting things in your yard or your community can be really fun. Even just planting one tree makes an impact and it can be an amazing learning experience. There are also so many things you can plant and all of them are so beautiful. They can brighten up your area a lot!!!
Using reusable alternatives: Next time you go to the store to buy a pack of plastic water bottles, plastic straws, or plastic sandwich bags just go buy reusable alternatives. There are reusable water bottles and reusable straws, and you can use some sort of tupperware to hold snacks instead of plastic baggies. Doing these kind of things can cut down significantly on the amount of trash you throw away.
