23.02.2021: We are organizing a seminar series on Topological Materials jointly with the Institute of Physics at the Marie Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin.
09.02.2021: ALEXANDER LAU has been awarded a prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Individual Fellowship by the European Commission for a 2-year research project to be carried out in the Majorana group. The title of the project is: Magnetism, Berry-curvature engineering and topology in chalcogenide superlattices and heterostructures.
05.01.2021: MARCIN PŁODZIEŃ receives NAWA grant as part of the Bekker Programme for a two year postdoctoral visit in Quantum Optics Theory group led by Maciej Lewenstein at ICFO (Barcelona) starting on October 2021. Project title is: Quantum Simulators of open quantum systems and non-equilibrium topological matter.
22.12.2020: ALEXANDER LAU receives NAWA grant as part of the Ulam Programme - Seal of Excellence to work in the Majorana group for 2 years.
16.11.2020: ALEKSANDER SANJUAN CIEPIELEWSKI joins the group as a Research Assistant. He will be working under the supervision of ALEXANDER LAU.
23.09.2020: A patent application titled Topological charge, spin and heat transistor coauthored by VICTOR FERNÁNDEZ BECERRA and TIMO HYART has been submitted to European Patent Office.
19.02.2020: WOJCIECH BRZEZICKI receives a grant for research topic Limitations for Protected Transport and Exotic Topological States in Topological Semiconductors as part of the SONATA BIS 9 competition. The grant provides 5-year funding to create a new research team.
12.-13.12.2019: Group organizes a mini-symposium on Recent Developments in the Theory of Topological Systems jointly with Institute of Physics UMCS & Lublin Branch of Polish Physical Society. The symposium takes place in the Institute of Physics at the Marie Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin.
07.11.2019: WOJCIECH BRZEZICKI receives award of the Prime Minister for Outstanding Habilitation.
23-27.09.2019: Within the competition ”Physical paths 2019” for primary- and high-school students one of the laureate, MIKOŁAJ MYSZKOWSKI, was awarded a one-week workshop at IF PAN. He studied ultra-cold many-body systems in an anharmonic trap under the supervision of MARCIN PŁODZIEŃ.
01.-31.07.2019: Gifted high-school student JAKUB PILIMON joined the group for a monthly internship. He studied topology of non-Hermitian systems under the supervision of WOJCIECH BRZEZICKI.
01.06.2019: ALEXEY SHOROKHOV joins the group as Visiting Researcher for 6 months.

26.-27.02.2019: Group organizes a conference Majorana modes and beyond.
21.-25.01.2019: Within the program ”National Children Fund” M. Płodzień, W. Brzezicki and T. Hyart took a part in organizing a one-week workshop for high- school students at IF PAN. Three gifted high-school students joined the group for one week research training. The research projects were related to chaos and topological materials.

19.09.2018: WOJCIECH BRZEZICKI receives Stipend for Outstanding Young Researchers funded by Polish Ministry of Sciences and Higher Education.

24.05.2018: WOJCIECH BRZEZICKI Completed habilitation by the decision of Scientific Council of the Faculty of Physics, Astronomy and Computer Science, Jagiellonian University in Cracow. Scientific achievement: “Spin, orbital and topological order in models of strongly correlated electrons”.
