Welcome to the 3rd International workshop on Mining Actionable Insights from Social Networks (MAISoN 2019). The workshop takes place on October 2 and is co-located with ICTIR 2019, the 5th ACM SIGIR International Conference on the Theory of Information Retrieval which takes place from October 2 to 5, 2019 in Santa Clara, California (USA).

Call for papers. In this workshop, we aim to to invite and gather researchers and practitioners from across the world and, in particular, from different disciplines, such as information retrieval, data mining, machine learning, data science, network science, social network analysis and other related areas to share their ideas and research achievements in order to deliver technology and solutions for mining actionable insight from social network data.

We solicit original, unpublished and innovative research work on all aspects related to the topics of this workshop. The deadline for submissions of articles is July 15th, 2019 July 22nd, 2019.

Notifications will be sent out on August 2.

Accepted contributions will be presented in a plenary session at the workshop on October 2, and automatically invited to submit an extension of their work to our journal special issue of the Springer Information Retrieval Journal.

Previous editions. After two successful editions of MAISoN in at WSDM in Cambridge (2017) and IJCAI in Stockholm (2018) we will meet again this year in Santa Clara, California hosted by one of the leading conferences on the thrilling field of Information Retrieval. In all previous editions, the workshop attracted a number of high-quality contributions spanning a variety of issues and techniques related to social networks analysis. The workshops also included exciting invited talks regarding social networks analysis. Previous workshops had journal special issues of the high impact Elsevier Information Systems and Information Processing & Management journals.
