Welcome to Maintain-It! Get up and running in 5 minutes:

STEP 1: Set Up Your Profile (30 seconds)
1. Open the app
2. Choose what you want to track:
• Vehicles only
• Home/property only
• Both (requires Trial or Pro)
3. Select your region (for seasonal tasks)
4. Done! Your 14-day FREE trial starts automatically

STEP 2: Add Your First Vehicle or Property (2 minutes)
For Vehicles:
1. Tap the "+" button
2. Select "Add Vehicle"
3. Two options:
• VIN Scan (Pro/Trial): Point camera at VIN barcode
• Manual Entry: Type year, make, model
4. App generates complete maintenance schedule automatically!
For Properties:
1. Tap the "+" button
2. Select "Add Property"
3. Enter:
• Property type (house, condo, apartment)
• Year built
• Special features (pool, chimney, etc.)
4. App generates seasonal maintenance tasks!

STEP 3: Explore Your Maintenance Schedule (1 minute)
• View all upcoming tasks
• See when each service is due
• Check what needs attention soon
• All organized by priority

STEP 4: Complete Your First Task (2 minutes)
1. When you complete maintenance:
• Tap the task
• Mark as "Complete"
• Add cost and notes (optional)
• Attach photos (optional)
2. Task automatically reschedules to next due date!
3. History saved forever (Pro) or 90 days (Free)

STEP 5: Enable Notifications
1. Settings → Notifications
2. Enable "Task Reminders"
3. Get notified:
• 7 days before due
• On due date
• 7 days if overdue

1. How does the 14-day trial work?
Your trial starts automatically when you first use the app. You get full Pro access for 14 days with no credit card required. After 14 days, choose Pro or continue with Free plan. All your data stays safe either way!

2. What happens to my data when my trial ends?
All your data is 100% safe! You keep all vehicles, properties, tasks, and history. You can view everything. Free plan limits only apply to adding NEW items.

3. How do seasonal tasks work?
Seasonal tasks are region-specific maintenance recommendations. The app detects your location (USA, Australia, Europe, etc.) and shows climate-appropriate tasks for each season. In Australia, December = Summer tasks. In USA, December = Winter tasks!

4. Why am I not getting notifications?
Check three things:
1. iOS Settings → Maintain-It → Allow Notifications: ON
2. App Settings → Notifications → Enable Reminders: ON
3. Settings → Fix Notifications → Reset All Reminders

5. How do I export my maintenance records?
Pro users: Tools → Export Reports → Choose PDF or CSV
Free users: Export is a Pro feature (available during trial or with Pro subscription)

6. Does my data stay on my device?
Yes! 100% local storage. Your data is stored on your iPhone/iPad and backed up to YOUR iCloud (if enabled). We never store your data on external servers. Complete privacy!

9. I'm on Pro but only seeing 5 tasks per vehicle - why?
Vehicles added during Free plan keep limited schedules. Quick fix:
Settings → Danger Zone → "Regenerate All Schedules"

Don't manually create every home maintenance task! Use Quick Actions → Seasonal Tasks to add climate-appropriate tasks with one tap.

Already did an oil change last month? Add it! History tab → + button → Create manual entry. Build complete history even before you started using the app.

Take photos of receipts, before/after work, and parts. Great for warranties, resale, and insurance claims!

1. Force close app (swipe up from app switcher)
2. Restart your iPhone
3. Reopen app

Lost Your Data?
If you had iCloud backup enabled:
1. Reinstall app
2. Sign in with same Apple ID
3. Data restores automatically
If iCloud was off: Unfortunately data is gone. Enable backup now to prevent future loss!
