I enjoy reading scientific books not because I’m searching for specific answers, but because I find the world to be an incredibly wondrous place. There’s a deep sense of joy and calm that comes from being in awe of its complexity — a feeling of connection and gratitude for this unbelievable game we call life. Reading helps me experience that wonder more vividly and reminds me to appreciate the intricacy and beauty of the world we live in.
That sense of awe is also what draws me to science as a career: it keeps me humble and continuously amazed by how much there is to learn and understand.
If you ever feel like talking about how wondrous the world is, want to share thoughts about research or the challenges of doing a Ph.D., or just think I might be someone you'd enjoy chatting or grabbing a coffee with — especially if you live on the Princeton campus — feel free to reach out at mahsa.bastan76@gmail.com. I’d love to connect.
