The Mahopac Special Education PTO (SEPTO) is a district-wide Parent Teacher Association organized for the specific purpose of providing information and support to parents and caregivers of children with special needs, including those with 504 plans or IEP's, receiving RTI or general building level support.

Our mission is to create a true sense of community for all families of children with disabilities, from Early Intervention and CPSE through High School to age 21.

SEPTO sponsors parent gatherings, speakers, library resources and educational programs in an effort to create a true parent support, community network.

Goals and Objectives:

* Promote greater awareness of special education resources and issues

* Provide information on special education events, research, and district developments

* Foster an open environment for the exchange of ideas and information

* Connect parents with mutual concerns and open the lines of communication

* Financially support special education initiatives and resource materials
