The junior project was focused on construction, sustainability, and moving towards green and eco-friendly solutions, and how to address, analyze and solve exciting problems both short and long term solutions
We have done several reports about projects that we have visited, and the final project was a case study. and suggestions of solutions for both long- and short-term options.
Report 1: To visit and have a tour of a big or medium project that is still under construction and interview the project manager and ask him about project details, contractors, subcontractors, green building aspects applied, budgeting, CAD software used, obstacles and major conflicts faced by the project, project management packages applied, etc. We visited a project of a mosque and an events hall located in Zayed town, Bahrain. Started in November 2017, the project owner is “Bahrain Defense Force”. The main contractor is "Al-Dahrani Contracting Co.”, with a budget of 800,000 BD. The project consultant is “Bahrain Defense Force “. The percentage of progress in this project has exceeded 80%.
Report 2: The purpose of this report is to mention and make a case study about green buildings. aspects that are already applied in our home case, and what else can be applied beside them that can. benefit the building owner, both long- and short-term, and benefit the environment.
Report 3 (Final Project): Case study the water accumulation at the lowest point due to rain and if there are any benefits, positive or negative effects, and to deal with it and solve both in the long and short term. We worked on Road 1906 in the Hoora area, in front of the United Nations building and the French and Iraqi embassies.
We got a full mark on all the reports and final project and an excellent overall grade in the course.
