I am Mahmoud Khaled Abdelkader, and I am currently based in Giza, Egypt. I got my master's degree from the University of Cape Town and AIMS, supported by a fully funded scholarship. Born and raised in Egypt, I embarked on my academic journey in Mathematics at Helwan University, graduating with a Bachelor of Science and achieving a GPA of 3.3/4 in 2020. My graduation project on Interval Analysis was met with excellent reviews, marking a significant milestone in my academic career.
Following graduation, I had the privilege of serving as a teaching assistant at Helwan University's Mathematics Department and the El-Gazeera Higher Institute for Engineering and Technology in Cairo. These roles have not only allowed me to share my passion for mathematics with students but have also significantly contributed to my personal and professional growth. I have been engaged in freelance online mathematics teaching since September 2020, further expanding my teaching experience and adapting to the evolving educational landscape.
My academic pursuits and contributions have been recognized through various accolades, including being awarded the prestigious Mastercard Foundation Scholarship at AIMS, which underscores my commitment to educational excellence and leadership. In February 2024, I was honored with a fully-funded internship at HGS MathComp, Heidelberg University, Germany, where I conducted research in mathematical modelling and game strategy implementation for the board game Quoridor. This experience not only enhanced my research capabilities but also allowed me to collaborate with international experts in the field.
Beyond my academic and professional achievements, I am deeply committed to community service and volunteer work. As a Mastercard Foundation Scholar, I have actively participated in community service initiatives, dedicating my time to educational tutoring at Muizenberg High and contributing to significant events like Siyakhula and the CIMPA Algebra Winter School. These experiences have solidified my belief in the transformative power of education and the importance of community engagement.
I possess a strong skill set in programming languages and tools, including LATEX, C++, Python, R software, and proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office, GeoGebra, plotly, Canva, and Emaze. I am fluent in Arabic and English, with basic proficiency in French, enabling me to engage with a diverse range of individuals and cultures.
As I continue my academic and professional journey, I am eager to explore new opportunities that will allow me to contribute to the field of mathematical sciences and make a positive impact on society. I look forward to the challenges and learning experiences that lie ahead, confident in my ability to navigate them with determination and resilience.
