I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) at The Pennsylvania State University. I am fortunate to be supervised by Dr. Dongwon Lee and to be working in the PIKE Group! I am also pursuing a Certification in Linguistic Diversity and Human Technology, as part of the NSF-NRT Linguistic Diversity Across the Lifespan (LinDiv) Program. My research interests include Large Language Models (LLMs), Data Science, and Human-Computer Interaction.
I am a Ph.D. Candidate in the College of Information Sciences and Technology (IST) at The Pennsylvania State University. I am fortunate to be supervised by Dr. Dongwon Lee and to be working in the PIKE Group! I am also pursuing a Certification in Linguistic Diversity and Human Technology, as part of the NSF-NRT Linguistic Diversity Across the Lifespan (LinDiv) Program. My research interests include Large Language Models (LLMs), Data Science, and Human-Computer Interaction.
For my Ph.D. research, I focus on human perspectives of LLM-generated outputs that are inherently unreliable. In addition, I lead and collaborate on a range of other LLM-related projects involving computational methods and/or human-subjects research.

Before starting my Ph.D., I worked as a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) at the Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET) in Dhaka, Bangladesh. I have completed my B.Sc. and M.Sc. in Computer Science and Engineering (CSE) from the same university under the supervision of Dr. Mohammed Eunus Ali. As a trained computer scientist, I have also served as a Consultant for the Bureau of Research and Testing (BRTC), BUET on several national-level projects for the Government of Bangladesh, where I applied a combination of computer science, problem-solving, and project management skills to solve specific problems.

During leisure, I'm usually sipping a cup of coffee while cozying up with a book or watching a show! I like cooking and enjoy making traditional Bangladeshi dishes!

Aug 2025 - Our work on analyzing text segments authored by humans and LLMs has been accepted to EMNLP 2025!
Aug 2025 - Our work on task-oriented dialogue summarization of user-conversational agent interactions using chain-of-interactions has been accepted to Findings of EMNLP 2025!
Aug 2025 - My first-authored work on utilizing contextual search results to improve LLM hallucination detection was accepted to Computers in Human Behavior!
Apr 2025 - Attended the 2025 Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS) conference in Dallas, TX with a Student Scholarship and Travel Award!
Feb 2025 - My first-authored work on the Gen-AI policies of CS conferences was accepted to the Communications of the ACM (CACM)!
Dec 2024 - Passed my Ph.D. Comprehensive Exam! Officially a Ph.D. Candidate and ABD!
Oct 2024 - Presented our work at the Conference on Language Modeling, COLM 2024, in Philadelphia, PA with the IST Student Travel Award, Penn State!
Aug 2024 - Received the NSF-NRT Linguistic Diversity Across the Lifespan Fellowship!
July 2024 - My first-authored work on the use of warnings for human detection of LLM hallucinations was accepted to the Conference on Language Modeling. COLM 2024!
May 2024 - Won the 2nd prize for LLM-generated fake news at the Fake-a-thon, Center for Socially Responsible AI (CSRAI), Penn State!
Sep 2023 - Received the Bangladesh-Sweden Trust Fund Travel grant for my Ph.D. studies!
May 2023 - Passed my Ph.D. Qualifying Exam!
Oct 2022 - Presented our work (virtually) at the Affective Computing and Intelligent Interaction, ACII 2022 Conference, Nara, Japan!
Aug 2022 - Started my Ph.D. in Informatics at Penn State!
