The College and Career Bridge for All program is an initiative designed to provide support and resources to students, particularly those from underprivileged backgrounds, to help them successfully transition from high school to college and pursue rewarding careers. The program aims to address the barriers that students often face in accessing higher education and career opportunities.
Since our founding in 2016, College & Career Bridge for All has supported more than 100,000 students to enroll in college and has employed more than 500 college students as Coaches who have collectively earned more than $3 million in wages. These students have gone on to succeed in college and return to College & Career Bridge for All as Coaches. For many Coaches, this experience has launched careers in education as college persistence counselors, classroom teachers, and full-time college and career advisors.
We are the largest near-peer mentor matriculation program in the country, serving more than 50,000 graduates annually. Our work has a demonstrable impact in supporting students to enroll in college: students who engaged with their coach enrolled in Fall 2022 at a rate 9 percentage points higher than students who did not; in our Spring 2021 Winter Bridge program, it was 18 percentage points higher.
Most importantly, our impact is greatest on students who have been historically underrepresented in college. Students who connected with their Bridge Coach were disproportionately community college bound, Hispanic or Latinx, and graduates of high schools with low postsecondary enrollment rates. Analysis has shown that our impact is strongest for many traditionally marginalized students students: low-income, Spanish-speaking, Hispanic or Latinx, and Black students who had coach support were more likely to enroll than their peers without Coach support (Impact Assessment).
