We had the opportunity to engage in a productive discussion with the Executive Director of Samina Tannery Ltd. about the latest updates on ongoing interventions and potential future plans for sustainable development in the leather industry.

The Honorable Vice-Chancellor of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology, Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoqu with Treasurer (AUST), Prof. Dr. Sharmin Reza Chowdhury; Project Coordinator (University of Southern Denmark), Dr. Dewan Ahsan; the Head of the MPE Department, Prof. Dr. A N Mustafizul Karim; Project Leader (AUST), Dr M Sarwar Morshed; Deputy Leader, Abu Hamja, PhD; Head of Operations at iDEA TREE, Kauser Ali, Research Assistant Md. Mahfujul Haq; Research Assistant Mongsathowai Marma Babu; Research Assistant Md Asif Mustafa; and Admin Cum Accounts Officer, Mahabubur Rahman Tusher visited LWG-certified factories in Khulna on 18th and 19th January, 2025.

The visits provided valuable insights into the factors driving LWG certification and the future of sustainable practices in the leather industry. 

I conducted a two-day Excel Workshop via online.

On the first day, we covered basic formulas and tricks. The second day focused on advanced tools to solve real-life problems. Participants will compete based on their learnings from these two days.

I want to extend my gratitude to the IEOM Society AUST Student Chapter for organizing this workshop to enhance students' skills.

The SusLeather team had a fruitful meeting today with the honorable Vice-Chancellor of Ahsanullah University of Science and Technology Prof. Dr. Md. Ashraful Hoque, and Treasurer Prof. Dr. Sharmin Reza Chowdhury. The Project Leader, Dr M Sarwar Morshed; the Deputy Project Leader, Abu Hamja, PhD; the Deputy Director of Finance (AUST), Mohammad Abdul Alim; the Research Assistants, Md. Mahfujul Haq and Md Asif Mustafa and Admin Cum Accountant Mahabubur Rahman Tusher were present at the meeting. The project leader briefed the vice chancellor on the project, discussed the project's progress, and set a road map for the future. A big thank you to everyone for their valuable contributions. 

We had a productive pre-intervention meeting at Samina Tannery Ltd. today. We are looking forward to collaborating on implementing the insightful solutions discussed.

My academic journey in the BUET chapter saw the light on 2nd March 2024. I successfully completed my thesis defense. My supervisor, Dr. A. B. M. Mainul Bari, guided me like a mentor. I am grateful to my supervisor.

I am blessed with two wonderful people: my father, Mojibor Rahman, and my mother, Monoara Rahman. Without their blessings, I would not have achieved this academic milestone. ❤️
