Talks
Some talks I've given that may or may not be of interest... Some of them are complemented by papers available here.
My workshop at 7th Iranian Conference on Advances in Enterprise Architecture (ICAEA 2023), Shahid Beheshti University, Iran, May 2023
In this workshop, I discussed about the development of systems relying on blockchain smart contract technologies.
My webinar talk at Petra Christian University, Indonesia, May 2023
In this presentation, I highlighted the significance of adopting development methods for the successful development of IoT-based systems. By adopting systematic development methods, we can ensure that IoT systems are built with a structured approach, minimizing risks and enhancing overall reliability. I discussed the benefits of utilizing development methods, such as improved project management, streamlined development processes, and the ability to consistently deliver high-quality IoT solutions.
My presentation at Pacific Asia Conference on Information Systems (PACIS), July 2022
In this presentation, which was a part of the project, funded by the Australian’s Government, between 2019 and 2020, valued at AUS $1,999,660 (https://www.infrastructure.gov.au/territories-regions-cities/cities/smart-cities/collaboration-platform/thesmart-beaches-project), I discussed the development of ontological models that facilitate a unified representation and maintenance analytics models.
My presentation at Winter School of Software Engineering at the School of Computer Science, University of Technology Sydney (UTS), Australia, August 2019
A talk on my journey in Design Science Research (DSR) approach and how I my research creates a bridge between Information Systems and Software Engineering fields. I provide some examples of conducting DSR, in particular I discussed the design and validation of generic methodology for migration large scale legacy enterprise systems to cloud computing platforms.

Winter School of Software Engineering, University of Technology Sydney (UTS), August 2019
My presentation 9th IEEE Annual Information Technology, Electronics and Mobile Communication Conference, November 2018
I presented my proposed evaluation framework that incorporates a variety of 33 criteria, this paper presents a comparative analysis of nine existing well-known IoT architectures. The results of the analysis highlight the strengths and weaknesses of these architectures and give insight to city leaders, software architects, and developers aiming at selecting the most appropriate architecture or their combination that may fit their own specific smart city development scenario..

9th IEEE Annual Information Technology, Electronics and Mobile Communication Conference, November 2018, University of British Columbia (UBC), Canada, November 2018
My presentation at 27th Australian Conference on Information Systems (ACIS), December 2016
I presented my paper and discussed how the idea of situational method engineering (a.k.a. method tailoring) and Design Science Approach can be effectively applied in migrating legacy software systems to cloud computing platforms. I proposed a bespoke and generic approach to build cloud based applications.
The tool — called Migration Legacy Software Application to Cloud (MLSAC) — I developed is available at my Github (some Microsoft C# and .Net framework updates might be needed to run the application).

My presentation at the Business School, University of New South Wales (UNSW), Sydney, Australia, November 2015
As a part of my PhD program, I presented the application of Model Driven Development approach to support migrating legacy software systems to cloud computing platforms. I discussed how a metamodeling approach can be used to build conceptual models for cloud computing migration.
