Team
I have had a chance to supervise some great students on several interesting problems, some of which are listed below. I am always looking for passionate students who are hungry to learn and grow. If that sounds like you, do not hesitate to contact me and send me your CV. Write a paragraph about why you want to work with me and what is more relevant to you from my projects.
I like the following piece from Agape Satori as a deep dive into my supervision philosophy:
The Real Teacher Is The One Who Shows You The Way But Lets You Walk It On Your Own In Your Own Way.
The Wise Teacher Is The One Who Shows You The Door But Does Not Tell You What To Think About What Is Behind Them.
The True Teacher Is The One Who Teaches You To Lead, Not To Follow.
The Awakened Teacher Is The One Who Is Also The Student.
The Genuine Teacher Is The One Who Knows When To Tell You To Leave Your Teacher.
The Compassionate Teacher Is The One Who Teaches All By An Example, Not Just His Students.
The Courageous Teacher Is The One Who Dares To Expand Beyond His Teachings.
The Best Teacher Is The One Who Brings Out The Teacher In You So That You May Become REAL, WISE, TRUE, GENUINE, COMPASSIONATE And COURAGEOUS"

For Future Students:
I am often looking for great students who can inspire me and who are up for a challenge. If you want to do a PhD or MSc with me, send me the followings:
Your short CV with publications
Your motivation for doing PhD/MSc and also your motivation for working with me/UQ.
What do want to work on? It could be one of my projects or a project that you have expertise in it and are passionate to work on it with my mentorship.
Some tips for international students seeking a scholarship at UQ. The competition for scholarships is fierce. You need to have a high GPA (at least 80%), graduate or being graduated from a top university, and have some forms of publications in good journals, i.e., peer-reviewed journals. Obviously, you don't need to meet all these criteria but you need a good balance of them. If you don't have a good GPA, then try to publish more and make your CV stronger. If you are a graduate of an average university in a developing country, a great GPA and publication can help.
