I could spend everyday just being cosy and crafting away.

Embroidery, cross stitch, knitting, crochet, sewing, weaving. What ever craft it is, I want to go it a go! 

I spent my career as a surface pattern designer. I love spotting and creating icons and patterns. You can often find me taking pictures of little patterns I see in everyday life or on plats or to a visit to a national trust house.

It seemed like the perfect idea to mix these two loves together and create embroidery kits. 

The repetitive nature of embroidery is perfect when I need calm. However the fixed design never quite appealed to me or counting of cross stitch took away from the actual stitching. I wanted something I could put my own stamp on without having to design from scratch on the fabric. 

That's where Magpie & Me was born. 

My ideas start with sketches and a feeling. Tapping into the natural mystical world that surrounds us and the magic there is to find there. I transfer these ideas on to the computer and draw up the kits. 

The designs are printed onto the fabric giving you a base to stitch and embellish however you want. Taking it one stitch at a time to outline, fill or decorate the sections however you choose and create your own masterpiece. It is just like colouring in but with needle and thread. 

My wish is to encourage everyone to get creative. To take time to recharge. To discover and experiment. There are no mistakes when you let your creativity fly.
