This Privacy Policy describes how IMCBS LLP ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use the Edu-Magnet (the "App"). By using the App you agree to the practices described below.
We collect only the information needed to provide the App's features:
Account credentials – Institution ID, username, and password (transmitted securely; passwords are never stored on the device).
Teacher profile data – Name and role as returned by the school's MagnetPRO server after authentication.
Attendance records – Student attendance data you mark or view within the App.
Class diary content – Messages, photos, audio clips, and files you upload to share with parents.
Student information – Names, admission numbers, and attendance rates displayed in the App.
Device identifiers – Used solely for session management and push notifications (if enabled).
Authenticate your identity and maintain your session.
Display class, attendance, and student data from your institution's server.
Allow you to send diary messages, photos, and files to parents.
Improve App performance and fix bugs (anonymous crash reports only).
We do not sell, rent, or share your personal information with third parties for marketing purposes.
Your authentication token and Institution ID are stored locally on your device using AsyncStorage to keep you logged in between sessions.
All school and student data resides on your institution's MagnetPRO server (magnetpro.in) — the App only displays it and does not maintain its own copy.
Diary attachments (photos, audio, files) are uploaded directly to your institution's server and are not stored by IMCBS LLP separately.
We do not share personal data with third parties except:
Your institution's server – All API requests are sent to the MagnetPRO backend operated by your school or institution.
Legal obligations – If required by law or to protect the rights and safety of users.
The App is intended for use by teachers and school staff aged 18 and above. Student data (names, attendance) is handled on behalf of the institution and in accordance with the institution's own data-protection policies. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from students or minors.
All communication with the server uses HTTPS / TLS encryption.
Authentication uses short-lived JWT Bearer tokens.
Credentials are never stored in plain text on the device.
You may log out at any time to clear your local session token.
To request deletion of your account or personal data, contact your institution administrator or reach us at the address below.
You may request a copy of the data we hold about you by emailing us.
Internet – Required to connect to the school's MagnetPRO server.
Camera / Media – Used only when you choose to attach photos or files to a diary entry.
Microphone – Used only when you record audio for a diary message.
Storage – Used to read files you choose to attach and to cache assets for offline use.
Local session data (token, Institution ID) is retained until you sign out or uninstall the App. All other data is managed by your institution on the MagnetPRO server and subject to their retention policy.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted here with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes your acceptance.
