Privacy Policy

Brittany Rima built MagicBudget as a freemium app. This Service is provided at no cost, with an optional paid subscription, and is intended for use as is.

This page explains what information MagicBudget handles, where it goes, and what your choices are.

THE SHORT VERSION

MagicBudget does not require an account. Your trips, expenses, savings, receipts, and notes are stored on your device and are not uploaded to any server I operate. I cannot see your data. There are no analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs in this app.

INFORMATION I COLLECT

None directly. There is no sign-up, no login, and no profile on my servers. The name and family role you can enter in Settings are stored on your device only.

WHERE YOUR DATA LIVES

Everything you enter — trips, expenses, savings deposits, party members, notes, and receipt images — is stored in the app's private storage on your device, shared only with the MagicBudget widgets on the same device.

If you have iPhone backups turned on, your device backup may include the app's data. That backup is handled by Apple under your own iCloud or computer backup settings, not by me, and I have no access to it.

THIRD-PARTY SERVICES

MagicBudget uses a small number of outside services. When your device contacts them, they may log the request, including your IP address, as part of normal server operation.

- RevenueCat — processes and validates in-app purchases and restores your subscription. It receives an app-generated identifier and device information tied to your purchase, not your budget data. Privacy policy: https://www.revenuecat.com/privacy

- GitHub Pages — the app downloads a public price-estimate file (roughly once a week) so park price estimates stay current. This is a plain file download; nothing about you or your trips is sent. - ExchangeRate-API (open.er-api.com) — the app downloads current currency exchange rates when you choose a display currency other than US dollars. No personal or financial information is sent. Privacy policy: https://www.exchangerate-api.com/terms

There are no analytics, advertising, attribution, or crash-reporting SDKs in this app.

CAMERA AND RECEIPTS

With your permission, MagicBudget can use the camera to scan a receipt, attach it to an expense, and read the total to fill in the amount. Scanning and text recognition happen entirely on your device. Receipt images are stored on your device and are never uploaded anywhere. You can decline camera access and use the app normally; receipt scanning is simply unavailable.

ON-DEVICE AI

On supported devices, MagicBudget can suggest cost estimates and savings tips using Apple's on-device intelligence. These run locally on your iPhone. Your trip details are not sent to me or to any AI service over the internet.

DIAGNOSTICS

If the app crashes or hangs, iOS may record a diagnostic report and store it in the app's private storage on your device. Nothing is transmitted automatically. These reports are visible in Settings and are only shared if you choose to send one to me when reporting a problem.

SUBSCRIPTIONS AND PAYMENTS

MagicBudget Pro is an auto-renewing subscription sold through the App Store. Apple processes all payments. I never see or receive your payment card, billing address, or Apple Account credentials. You can manage or cancel a subscription at any time in your Apple Account settings.

DATA RETENTION AND DELETION

Your data stays on your device until you remove it. You can delete individual trips, expenses, and savings entries inside the app. Deleting the app removes all of its data from your device permanently, including receipt images.

Because I do not store your data, there is nothing for me to delete on your behalf. To ask about purchase records held by RevenueCat or Apple, contact me at the address below.

SECURITY

Your data is protected by iOS's built-in app sandboxing and device encryption. No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, and I cannot guarantee absolute security.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

MagicBudget is a planning tool intended for adults, and it is not directed to children under 13. I do not collect personal information from anyone, including children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through this app, please contact me.

PRICE ESTIMATES

Price estimates shown in the app are community-sourced averages and may not reflect current prices. MagicBudget is an independent trip planning tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by The Walt Disney Company or any theme park operator.

CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY

I may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page, and the effective date below will be updated.
