Magica Moderna is planned to be a rules light system.Â
Core system:
For each session, players will be issued a velvet bag full of tokens with values on them, ranging from -5 to +5.
Characters will have ratings in 15 skills, ranging from 0 to 4.
When asked to make a test, players take a counter out of their bag, and then add the value to their skill rating against a difficulty supplied by the test. If they equal or beat it they succeed.
If they succeed by 3 or more then they have a critical success. This may give a bonus, depending on the situation.
If the test matches one of your characters 3 core competancies, you draw two tokens pick one. If it matches a weakness then you draw two and pick the worse one.
You can create advantages by teamwork which represent a temporary core competency you give to someone else for a brief duration.
