Defined the vision and technical direction for a modular AI-based ISP framework. Led the overall framework design and dataset creation, developed the auto white-balance module, a neural photofinishing module that supports multiple picture styles with minimal overhead, a detail enhancement module, a GPU-accelerated iterative bilateral solver (up to 15× faster with a single GPU) to mitigate corner-case artifacts, and an interactive real-time photo-editing tool built on top of the neural ISP, and also contributed to the cross-camera preference-aware WB post-processing. Additionally, developed the Raw-JPEG Adapter pipeline, enabling user-controllable, unlimited post-editable re-rendering with new picture styles by embedding full-resolution raw data with an average overhead of less than 2 MB per image. This preserves full image quality and allows repeated re-edits without any degradation over time.

Developed: 1) a camera-independent, AI-based framework for spatially varying auto white balance correction within the camera ISP—a plug-and-play solution requiring no tuning across devices, 2) a chromaticity mapping method for transferring chroma values across cameras without traditional color-chart calibration, 3) a guiding feature (DEF) for illuminant estimation using dual-exposure images in HDR pipelines, and 4) a side project with Gemini team focused on improving zero-shot image classification accuracy using multimodal LLMs (WDYS).
