Mafalda Gómez Vega is an Associate Professor in the Department of Applied Economics at the University of Valladolid. She holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Valladolid, awarded Cum Laude, as well as a Master’s Degree in Cultural Economics and Cultural Management and a Bachelor’s Degree in Art History. Her academic training has been enriched by research stays at the National Autonomous University of Mexico and the University of Valencia, which broadened her international perspective and helped consolidate a solid network of academic collaborations.
She has actively participated in research projects funded at both national and European levels, including the RECHARGE project, focused on European cultural heritage as a driver for development. Her work has been published in journals such as the Journal of Cultural Economics, Tourism Management, and Socio-Economic Planning Sciences, and she has contributed chapters to major academic publishers including Springer and Edward Elgar Publishing.
