This Privacy Policy applies to the Android application maeum: Korean Comfort Words (package name: com.maeum.comfort), provided by ​녹색정원 (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

maeum provides Korean calligraphy cards with English translations. Users can view, save, and share quote-style images.

1. Information You Provide

maeum does not require account registration or login.
We do not ask users to provide information such as their name, email address, phone number, address, password, or profile information.
We do not operate a user account system or store account-based personal information on our own server.

2. Information Stored on Your Device

The app may store the following information locally on the user’s device:

• Favorite cards and app preferences

• Saved quote images

• Advertising and privacy consent preferences

Saved images and favorites are not uploaded to our own server.

When a user chooses to share an image through another app or service, the information is handled according to the privacy practices of that third-party app or service.

3. Advertising and Google AdMob

maeum uses Google AdMob and the Google Mobile Ads SDK to display advertisements.

Depending on the user’s location, consent choices, device settings, and the type of advertisement displayed, Google may automatically collect or process information including:

• IP address, which may be used to estimate general location

• Android advertising ID, App Set ID, and other device identifiers

• App launches, taps, ad views, video views, and other interactions

• Device, operating system, language, and app version information

• Diagnostic and performance information

• Information used for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and service improvement

Google may display personalized, non-personalized, or limited advertisements depending on the user’s consent choices and applicable law.

4. Meta App Events

maeum uses the Meta SDK and Meta App Events to measure app installations, app activation, and advertising campaign performance.

Depending on the user’s location, consent choices, and device settings, Meta may process information including:

• App installation, first launch, and app activation events

• Android advertising ID and other device identifiers

• Device model, operating system, language, app version, and related technical information

• IP address and network information

• Advertising attribution and campaign measurement information

• Diagnostic information related to the SDK and app events

This information may be used for advertising measurement, analytics, campaign attribution, fraud prevention, security, and improving advertising services.

The app does not intentionally send users’ names, email addresses, phone numbers, saved quote images, or the contents of shared images to Meta.

5. Consent for Users in the EEA, United Kingdom, and Switzerland

For users in the European Economic Area (EEA), United Kingdom, and Switzerland, maeum uses Google’s User Messaging Platform (UMP) to request consent where required.

Before consent is obtained, the app prevents the Meta SDK from automatically initializing and sending app event information.

If the user provides consent:

• Google may process data according to the selected consent options.

• Meta App Events may be activated for app installation and advertising measurement.

If the user selects “Do not consent”:

• The user can continue using maeum.

• The Meta SDK remains disabled and Meta App Events are not sent.

• Google may still display limited or non-personalized advertisements where legally permitted.

Refusing consent does not prevent access to the app’s main content and does not provide an advertisement-free version of the app.

6. United States Privacy Choices

Users in certain U.S. states may be given privacy choices concerning the sale or sharing of personal information for advertising purposes.

Users can access Privacy settings in the app when this option is required and available.

If a user chooses “Don’t sell or share my data,” the app applies Meta’s Limited Data Use setting where applicable. Advertising may still be displayed, but the data is handled in a more restricted manner according to the user’s selection and applicable law.

7. Managing Privacy Choices

Depending on the user’s region and applicable requirements, users may:

• Open Privacy settings from the app menu to review or change consent choices

• Adjust advertising personalization settings in their device or Google account

• Reset or delete the Android advertising ID through Android settings

• Manage app permissions through device settings

• Delete saved images and app data from their device

• Uninstall the app at any time

• Contact us with a privacy-related request

Because maeum does not operate a user account system, we may not be able to identify data processed by third-party providers as belonging to a particular user. Requests concerning information processed by Google or Meta may also need to be submitted directly to the relevant provider.

8. Permissions

maeum requests device permissions only when they are needed for app features.

Storage, photo, or media-related permissions may be used to save quote images to the user’s device or to support sharing features.

The app does not request permissions unrelated to its main features.

9. Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information directly.

Information may be processed or shared with the following service providers:

• Google, for advertising, analytics, fraud prevention, security, and service operation

• Meta, for app event measurement, advertising attribution, analytics, fraud prevention, and campaign optimization

These providers process information according to their own terms, policies, user consent choices, and applicable laws.

10. Data Retention and Security

We do not maintain user accounts or store account-based personal information on our own server.

Information processed by Google and Meta is retained according to each provider’s policies and settings.

Data transmitted by third-party SDKs is protected using security measures such as encryption in transit. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

11. International Data Transfers

maeum may be used in different countries.

Information processed by Google or Meta may be transferred to and processed in countries outside the user’s country of residence. These providers are responsible for applying appropriate safeguards according to their policies and applicable law.

12. Children’s Privacy

maeum is not directed to children under the age of 13.

We do not knowingly request or collect personal information directly from children. If we become aware that personal information has been collected from a child without the required authorization, we will take reasonable steps to address the issue.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy when the app’s features, third-party services, or legal requirements change.

When the policy is updated, the effective date at the top of this page will also be revised.
