From 21 December to 22 January in Terminal 2 of the airport, passengers can enjoy the artistic work of Consuelo Gamarro, which combines dance and abstract expression in a visual and emotional dialogue.

The 11:50 should be fine, but of course serious delays could happen. Under normal circumstances say you land at 7 (common short delay), it takes 2 hours to get out of the airport, and one to get to the train station. That puts you there at 10 which is plenty early.

We did that--arrived Madrid at 6am and took a train to Sevilla. I was not at all comfortable about buying tickets in advance, and that trip was about 5 years ago. Now with the issues with the airlines, there is no question, I would not buy the ticket in advance. For our flight, we ended up getting in a bit early, and the airport was dead. We got a much earlier train than I would have expected. I believe we were at our Sevilla inn by 11am, maybe earlier.

Another idea, if you are visiting Cordoba (I sure would, its amazing), you could buy those tickets when you arrive at the Madrid airport. Cordoba is not as far and the tickets would be cheaper. Then after a fun time in Cordoba you can take the train to Sevilla. Cordoba is worth at least 2 nights, BTW.

Lastly, of course, you could just buy the ticket to Sevilla when you arrive at the airport, and not give it much thought. For us, had I purchased the tickets in advance, I would have saved 40-50 euro on both tickets. When we travel when we don't have a rental car, we don't take taxis, we either walk or take public transportation. I felt like these tickets purchased day of were a reasonable "splurge".

FYI, Madrid is one of the airports like London, Amsterdam which has had huge problems, of late. I understand there was a line out the door of the airport for the security screening, which or course you wouldn't need to do on arrival, but I would guess if the screening is that bad, there are other issues at that airport.

It is a risk vs reward situation. Determine what the cost difference is in an advance ticket vs one day of. My fumbling figures it to be 80-90 euro day of, vs 50 to 60 euro...so 30 euro per ticket. Risking the early train and missing means your out the 50-60, and have to pay 80-90 (unless the missed ticket has some value, or you can reschedule at the airport); getting there early means you sit for a few hours. Probably the safer, budget conscious choice is to take the later train, and if everything goes well, find a nice place for tapas and a drink to wait for the train. Bolder would be to wait and buy there, buying the early train is probably the riskiest, but that would require serious disruptions...but if the reward is a few more hours in Seville, or a comfortable arrival....then maybe worth the risk. There is no right answer.

The major Airport in Madrid, Spain, is the Madrid Airport, commonly known as Barajas, and is the major gateway to the City of Madrid. Madrid airport is the busiest and largest in the country and was ranked the eleventh busiest globally and fourth in Europe in 2019.

T4, and its satellite terminal T4S, are the most recent additions to the airport terminals. It serves both domestic and international flights, including destinations within the Schengen Area. This complex also houses the direct Madrid to Barcelona shuttle flight.

Retail fans will be impressed by the shops in Madrid Airport, especially the duty-free walkthrough, which is the biggest in Spain and offers products from a large selection of world-class brands at excellent prices. Throughout the rest of the airport are stores selling fashion accessories, clothes, jewelry, watches, electronics, tech, last-minute travel accessories, and souvenirs. Football fans can also visit the sporting shops for official Real Madrid merchandise.

If you are taking the metro from Madrid city center to the airport, be sure to give yourself enough time to walk from the metro to the gate. It is about a 15-20 minute walk from the metro stop at Terminals 1, 2, and 3 to reach the departures area of Terminal 1.

Thanks for the info, but can you tell me how to get from the arrivals level of terminal 2 (Madrid airport) to the departures level of terminal 2 (Madrid airport) in order to catch the shuttle bus over to terminal 4 (Madrid airport). Last time I was there, it seemed like you couldn't simply go upstairs from the arrivals level after picking up your luggage (all stairways were marked no entry) and you had to continue outside and take a long, circuitous walk before you could go up to the departures level of terminal 2 to catch the shuttle. Is this the case or is there and easier way? I've looked everywhere online and can't find an answer to this question. Thanks for any help you can provide.

As a gateway to peninsula Spain, Madrid Airport is a popular choice for visitors not only to the stunning city itself but also to the whole of mainland Spain and its islands, thanks to the vast network of flights that fly in to and out of this impressive airport.

Madrid Airport is a popular destination for those travelling to and from other domestic airports in Spain, Europe and all over the world. The domestic routes between Madrid Airport and Barcelona, Palma de Mallorca, Gran Canaria, Tenerife, Valencia and Alicante are particularly busy.

How to get? From the current stop, located in front of arrivals gates 11 and 12, go up the ramp following the signs for "Salidas" and "VTC", turn left to cross the walkway, in the direction of the ATMs in the car park ; Once at the ATMs, we turn to the right, following the signs for "Module F" and "Terminal Bus T4". At the end of this corridor, to the left, is the access to the new bus stop.

IBERIA and ALSA will make your trip as easy as possible. We provide connections to Albacete, Burgos, Lorca, Soria, Valladolid, Ponferrada, Saragossa, Vitoria Murcia and Leon from Terminal 4 at the Madrid-Barajas airport to make your international journey more comfortable.

The name of the airport was previously just "Madrid-Barajas", but it got its newer, longer title in 2014, to honor the late Adolfo Surez, the first prime minister of Spain after the reintroduction of democracy.

While T1, T2 and T3 are connected and walkable, you can't get from there to T4 on foot. Instead, you'll have to drive, take a ride-hailing service or a taxi. There's also a free shuttle bus that runs 24 hours a day between the terminals. You can catch the bus in the arrivals area of each terminal -- just look for an Alsa bus with the digital screen in the front saying T1-T2-T3-T4. The frequency is as follows:

Note that the Priority Pass lounges at Madrid airport only allow you to bring in one guest. If you don't have a Priority Pass Membership, you can pay to access the lounge -- rates range from $40 - $42.

T4 and T4S are the newest additions to the airport. Oneworld long-haul flights on wide-body aircraft on airlines like American, Iberia, Royal Jordanian and Qatar leave from T4S, while Iberia or British Airways flights to Milan or London leave out of T4.

To get to T4S you need to get on a short mini-train that's located within the airport. After going through security in T4, follow the signs for T4S, where you'll have to go downstairs. The train comes every couple of minutes and takes about five minutes. Once you arrive, have your passport ready as you'll need to go through passport control.

It's fairly easy to get from the airport to the city center. Taxis cost a flat rate of $36 (remember, tipping taxis isn't customary in Spain), but you can usually do it for about $24 - $30 using a ride-hailing service like Uber or Cabify, depending on traffic and exact destination. The Metro system is easy to use and a one-way ticket costs $5.50, which includes the added airport supplement. You can also take the bus 200 to Avenida America for $2, or the Express Airport Bus for $6, which runs 24-hours and makes just three stops: O'Donnell, Cibeles and Atocha.

Renfe trains also have a line C1 which runs to T4 only, stopping at Fuente de la Mora, Chamartn, Nuevos Ministerios, Recoletos and Atocha. If you hold a Renfe AVE or Larga Distancia ticket with a same-day departure or arrival, your ticket between any of the aforementioned stops to or from the airport is free. If not, a one-way ticket costs $3.

The first thing I do when I get to a new country is buying a local prepaid sim card or getting an e-sim card. Because of my journey to visit every country in the world I have been to more than 200 countries and many major airports around the world. Therefore you can find already almost 200 prepaid sim card guides on Traveltomtom from all over the world: Paris, London, Dublin, Lisbon, Rome, Milan, Amsterdam, Berlin, Barcelona, etc. But also places like Guatemala, Brazil, Colombia, Argentina, Peru, Panama, USA, Canada, Kenya, Egypt, Turkey, Pakistan, Saudi Arabia and many more.

It is very simple. You want an Uber to drive you from the airport to your hotel? Then you need an internet connection! Or what about looking for a nice restaurant nearby when walking through the city or getting direction from Google Maps. Having a data connection on your phone makes traveling to Madrid so much easier and therefore more fun.

All the terminals are divided into several levels with arrivals on the lower levels and departures on the upper levels. There are many airlines servicing Madrid-Barajas Airport including American Airlines, British Airways, Emirates, Finnair, Ryanair and Lufthansa. e24fc04721
