This Privacy Policy describes how Madrasa Family ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, stores, and protects your information when you use the Madrasa Family mobile and web application ("App").
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. ABOUT THE APP
Madrasa Family is a family portal for students and parents/guardians connected to registered madrasas. Through the App you can:
- Create and manage your family profile
- View and pay madrasa fees
- Make donations
- View madrasa events
- Submit enquiries to your madrasa
- Download and share payment receipts
2. INFORMATION WE COLLECT
2.1 Account Information
When you register or sign in, we collect:
- Email address
- Password (stored securely by our authentication provider; we do not store your plain-text password)
2.2 Family and Student Information
When you create or update your profile, we collect information you provide, such as:
- Guardian/parent name
- House number and house name
- Area, state, and district
- Mobile number and WhatsApp number
- Student details (name, age, relation, class, gender, and associated madrasa)
2.3 Payment Information
When you pay fees or make donations through the App:
- Payment amount, type (fee or donation), remarks, and receipt details are stored in our systems
- Payments are processed by Razorpay, a third-party payment gateway
- We do not store your full card number, UPI PIN, or net-banking credentials on our servers
- Razorpay may collect payment method details according to its own privacy policy
2.4 Enquiry Information
If you submit an enquiry, we collect:
- Your name
- Mobile number
- Message content
2.5 Automatically Collected Information
When you use the App, limited technical data may be collected automatically, such as:
- Device type and operating system
- App version
- Network connection status
- Log data related to authentication, errors, and service performance
We do not request access to your device camera, microphone, contacts, or precise GPS location.
3. HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Link your family profile to your enrolled madrasa(s)
- Display fees, payment history, and outstanding balances
- Process fee and donation payments and generate e-receipts
- Show madrasa events and announcements
- Receive and forward enquiries to the relevant madrasa
- Provide customer support
- Maintain security, prevent fraud, and improve the App
4. HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION
We do not sell your personal information.
We may share your information only in the following cases:
4.1 With Your Madrasa
Information you provide (family profile, student details, payments, and enquiries) is shared with the madrasa(s) you are enrolled in so they can manage education, fees, and communication.
4.2 Service Providers
We use trusted third-party services to operate the App, including:
- Supabase (authentication, database, and secure data storage)
- Razorpay (payment processing)
- Google Fonts (typography delivery, where applicable)
These providers process data only as needed to provide their services and are bound by their own privacy and security obligations.
4.3 Legal Requirements
We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of users, madrasas, or the public.
5. DATA STORAGE AND SECURITY
Your data is stored on secure cloud infrastructure provided by Supabase. We use industry-standard measures such as encrypted connections (HTTPS), access controls, and database row-level security to protect your information.
No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your data, we cannot guarantee absolute security.
6. DATA RETENTION
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the App’s services, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements.
If you request account deletion, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law or for legitimate business purposes (such as payment records).
7. YOUR RIGHTS AND CHOICES
Depending on applicable law, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate or incomplete information
- Request deletion of your account and associated data
- Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

8. CHILDREN'S PRIVACY
The App is intended for use by parents/guardians and families enrolled in madrasas. Student information is provided and managed by a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect personal information directly from children without appropriate guardian involvement.
If you believe a child has provided personal information without proper consent, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps.
9. THIRD-PARTY LINKS AND SERVICES
The App may open third-party payment pages or services (such as Razorpay). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third-party websites or services. We encourage you to review their privacy policies.
10. CHANGES TO THIS PRIVACY POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this document. Continued use of the App after changes become effective means you accept the updated policy.
