The Knights of Columbus will once again host the Silver Rose that will be visiting Madonna Parish on Monday, September 23rd, at 7pm.
There will also be an abbreviated Gathering presentation of Our Lady of Guadalupe by Knight Paul Mladjenovic, and we will pray the Rosary, led by Father Bill.
All Parishioners and friends are invited.
The Silver Rose program is a series of prayer services that honor Our Lady and promote the dignity of human life. The program is a symbol of unity between the Knights of Columbus in Canada, the United States, and Mexico.
The program commemorates Juan Diego and the miracle of the roses, which is an important part of the story of Our Lady of Guadalupe. The first rose was a natural rose that was blessed by Bishop John C. Cody of London. The first “Silver Rose” was blessed by Bishop Alfonso Espino Silva.
Every year, eight silver roses travel throughout North America. The roses are stewarded by councils. The program has expanded to include eight roses traveling the western, central, and eastern corridors of North America to reach Our Lady of Guadalupe by December 12th.
