The career that I have decided to pursue is mechanical engineering. Ever since I was in elementary school I would always find myself looking for solutions to problems, and finding things I could fix or make better. In middle school, I learned about engineering from my counselor through Naviance. I decided to look more into it and realized that this was the career for me. I found engineering interesting and knew I wanted to pursue it as a career.
So far, I have taken multiple classes to achieve my goals towards becoming a mechanical engineer. This includes honors chemistry, honors geometry, and am currently taking AP physics. In school I’ve always thrived in my science and math classes which I believe will help me in my future career. I am currently taking an engineering course at James. A. Forrest Technology Center which will further help me pursue my future career by giving me hands-on learning experience in engineering, and show what to expect at a future job opportunity.
Throughout most of my life, I have played soccer. I currently play on my high school’s soccer team and have done so since I was in 9th grade. This team has taught me the importance of teamwork by showing how important it is to work with your peers in order to achieve your goals. This year, I have also decided to join my school’s SGA (Student Government Association) club. By being in this club, it will teach me valuable leadership skills that will benefit my future career.
After graduating from high school, I plan to attend a four year college and pursue a mechanical engineering degree. I believe this will further develop my engineering skills and fully prepare me for my career goals. After college, I plan to join the work field as soon as possible.
After achieving my career goal, I hope to make a difference in the world by improving common issues, and creating solutions for these problems. I plan to positively affect my community by being involved and listening to their issues. I hope to have a positive influence on the community by using the skills I’ve learned throughout my life to make the world a better place. I also plan to donate some of my money to organizations that research these issues and are actively searching for ways to better the problem.
