According to Biotropica, humans have played an important role in the Madidi landscape since pre-Incan times. Current use of the landscape represents human interests including industrial resources, agriculture, and tourism.
A big aspect the park emphasies is conservation.
There has been a total forest loss of 311 ha (hectare) in the eastern lowlands and a 1 ha loss in the western lowland from 1985-1986 (Forrest).
Over time, more and more species of animals and planets are discovered.
