Hi, I am Madelyn Ramirez! I am an aspiring teacher currently finishing my undergrad in Liberal Studies while obtaining my teaching credential through the ITEP program at Vanguard University of Southern California.
My desire to become an elementary teacher comes from my own love of learning. I aspire to be a teacher who makes learning accessible and fun for students and inspires a lifelong love of learning in them as well. I come from a family of educators and I am very passionate about the importance of education and the value of having a good teacher.
I have a variety of experience in educational settings. I have volunteered and assisted in classrooms from TK to 8th grade. I have spent time as a teacher’s assistant and after-school instructor at Traver Joint Elementary, and I have recently been a student teacher in a sixth-grade class in Irvine, Orange County. My experience has equipped me to create engaging lessons and has inspired me to continuously find new ways to adapt instruction to meet the needs of all students. My goal as a teacher is to create a positive learning atmosphere for students to grow and thrive.
My recent and modern education will serve as an asset to any school district, as I am able to bring new methods and strategies into the classroom. I have been trained in The Science of Reading, the Universal Design for Learning, Social Emotional Learning, and Dyslexia and English Language Development guidelines. I am also well-versed in creating lessons using backwards design that differentiate learning to build off of my students’ assets. Having student-taught in a sixth-grade classroom, I am also confident in incorporating deeper conceptual understanding and critical thinking into instruction.
