Madeline Bossi
Welcome!
I received my PhD in 2023 from the Department of Linguistics at UC Berkeley. My academic interests lie at the interface of syntax, semantics, and pragmatics. I explore questions in these areas through the lens of my fieldwork on Kipsigis and Scottish Gaelic.
Now I work as a UX Researcher in Philadelphia, applying the research skills that I gained through my linguistics training to help make websites and products user-friendly. Check out my UX research portfolio for more details!
Before Berkeley, I received my BA in linguistics and French in 2017 at Pomona College. Outside of linguistics, I enjoy running (slowly), singing along to the Mamma Mia movies, and cuddling with my cats Poppy and Chia.
Updates!
I filed my dissertation titled Epistemic modality across syntactic categories in Kipsigis in August 2023!
