Snippet of Director's note regarding concept: As we follow Jo through the first act, she is desperately clutching onto these moments with her sisters. She finds her memory is spotty. This makes her unable to hold onto the smaller details such as what their dresses looked like, how Aunt March’s tea set gleamed, or even Beth’s piano. Certain material items stick with Jo for no true rhyme or reason while others are lost altogether. However, what remains is the love they shared. And that is the crux of our interpretation of Little Women.
This production was conceptual and consisted of the Actor's pantomiming most props and costume pieces in the first act as if living in Jo's memory and full props/costumes in the second act when we are back in present time

The performance began with all actors dressed uniformly in jeans and white t-shirts, emphasizing their role as storytellers rather than characters. As the narrative unfolded, each performer retrieved their costume pieces from a central trunk, gradually assembling their roles before the audience’s eyes. In the finale, the actors returned their costumes to the trunk, symbolically concluding the act of storytelling, with the actor playing Percy ceremoniously closing it. This theatrical device was intended to underscore the idea that these performers were not merely reenacting myths, but actively crafting their own interpretation of the Greek gods' stories.
