FAQ

What is MACtion Potential? What do you do?

MACtion Potential is a new club at McMaster (we were ratified in the summer of 2017) that is centered around generating knowledge through multidisciplinary approaches in the field of Neurotechnology with the aim to contribute to human progress. Projects and discussion topics are decided by the whole group, and we will (hopefully) be providing all essential equipment.

Most importantly, we want to create an environment that will breed innovative thinking and foster a positive environment where students can come further their passions and/or discover new ones. We will develop interdisciplinary collaboration skills through self-directed projects and participating in NeurotechX.

I have an interest in club activities but I don't know much about neurotechnology! Can I still join?

Of course! Club members all have varying degrees of knowledge on neurotechnology. We encourage you to come out and learn with us. We will be hosting hackathons and workshops that will appeal to people with all levels of experience. Even more so, we encourage students from all faculties to join as everybody has something valuble to teach and contribute to the group process.

This being said, there will be a great amount of learning to be done! We hope to be able to facilitate this trhough workshops, so members won't have to rely soley on self-teaching.

How can I stay up to date with club meetings and events?

Any event we host will be posted on our Google Calendar! Updates will also be posted on our Facebook page, but not as regularly; the calendar will be your most reliable source. For most club meetings, we will send out emails at least one week in advance. If you have any more questions that weren't answered here, or you'd like to be added to our mailing list, you can email us at maction@mcmaster.ca and we will reply as soon as possible.
