If you want studio-grade accuracy, premium leather comfort, and a versatile wired setup for critical listening or mixing, choose Mackie MC Series Professional; if you need a rugged one-ear DJ monitor with kick-bass optimization and a swivel cup for quick cueing, choose Reloop RHP-10.
These two headphones serve vastly different masters. One is built to reveal the hidden details in a mix while you sit in a quiet room, and the other is designed to let you hear your cue track over the thumping bass of a club environment without taking off the whole unit. The Mackie offers a closed-back design meant for isolation and precision, while the Reloop focuses on flexibility and the specific needs of a performer who needs to stay connected to the room. You are not just choosing between two pairs of cans; you are choosing between the mindset of an engineer and the mindset of a performer. Understanding this fundamental split is the only way to avoid buying a tool that feels wrong in your hands after you've paid for it.
• Mackie MC Series Professional: Strength lies in its reference-quality 50mm transducers and real leather headband for long-term studio sessions; trade-off is the lack of wireless capability and its heavy focus on closed-back isolation rather than open-room monitoring. Best for: Audio engineers, producers, and audiophiles seeking accurate sound reproduction.
• Reloop RHP-10: Strength lies in its single-ear swivel design, XLR locking connection, and water-resistant vegan leather pad for durability during performance; trade-off is the mono audio output which limits stereo imaging compared to dual-ear models. Best for: DJs and live performers who need to hear cues while staying aware of the crowd.
The Mackie MC Series Professional headphones are engineered for people who treat audio as a craft. If you spend hours staring at a waveform editor or sitting behind a mixing console, these are built to support that specific workflow. The core of their appeal is the high-headroom, reference-quality 50mm transducer paired with a precision-tuned enclosure. This combination is what allows for an ultra-wide soundstage where you can hear deep, punchy bass and enhanced high-frequency detail without distortion. It is not just about making music loud; it is about hearing every instrument clearly so you can make the right decisions.

The physical build is equally tailored for the professional environment. Unlike many consumer headphones that use plastic or synthetic materials, Mackie has opted for a premium real leather adjustable headband and conforming ear pads. This choice isn't purely aesthetic; it provides an ergonomic fit that supports hours of continuous wear. When you are tracking vocals or mixing a full album, you cannot afford to be distracted by sore ears or slipping headbands. The closed-back design ensures optimal low-end response and sound isolation, which is critical when you need to hear exactly what is in the recording without outside noise bleeding in.
However, this level of specialization means they are not for everyone. These headphones are strictly wired, featuring three different premium cables including a coiled option and a straight cable with phone control. They do not have Bluetooth or battery life to worry about, but they also require you to manage your cabling. If your primary goal is to listen to music while running, commuting, or working out at the gym, these will feel too restrictive. They are heavy-duty tools for a stationary, focused environment. The collapsible fold-up design helps with portability, but the presence of a 9.8-foot fabric-jacketed cable suggests you are meant to plug into a mixer or interface, not roam freely.
The Reloop RHP-10 Mono Neon is a different beast entirely, designed specifically for the chaotic energy of a DJ booth or a live stage. Its defining feature is the single-ear construction. In a loud environment where you need to hear the next track in your headphones while simultaneously feeling the beat through your body and the speakers, wearing both cups can be isolating and uncomfortable. The RHP-10 solves this with a swivel-mounted ear cup that lets you hold the headphone to one ear or position it between your shoulder and head. This flexibility is crucial for quick previewing and cueing without disrupting your connection to the room.
Durability and performance under pressure are central to its design. The driver is a powerful 50 mm neodymium unit tuned with "kick-bass optimization," which means it emphasizes the low frequencies that drive dance music. This is not a neutral, flat response for mixing; it is a dynamic sound characteristic built to cut through the noise of a club. The construction includes a sturdy XLR connection with a locking mechanism, ensuring that a accidental tug on the cable won't disconnect your audio mid-set. The ear pad is made of soft vegan leather that is water-resistant, a practical feature for environments where sweat and humidity are constant threats.
This headphone is for the active user who values function over total immersion. It comes with a coiled 6.3 mm jack cable ranging from 1.3 to 2.8 meters, providing ample slack for movement. The inclusion of a 90-degree angle adapter further improves cable positioning, reducing strain on the connection point. While the mono output might seem limiting for casual listeners, it is the industry standard for DJs who need to focus on the rhythm and timing of a single channel. It is lightweight, weighing only 280 grams, which makes it comfortable enough for long gigs, but it lacks the plush leather comfort of the Mackie, favoring a flatter, more utilitarian profile instead.

I would buy the Mackie MC Series Professional if I were setting up a home studio or needed headphones for serious production work. The combination of real leather, reference-quality drivers, and the included variety of cables makes it a complete package for anyone who needs to trust what they hear. It is the superior choice for clarity and long-term comfort in a controlled environment. However, if my primary use case was for gym workouts or live DJing, the Reloop RHP-10 would be the clear winner because of its one-ear flexibility and rugged, water-resistant build. Ultimately, the Mackie wins for the producer, while the Reloop wins for the performer.
Neither model is fully waterproof like a dedicated IPX7 rated sports headset, but the Reloop RHP-10 features a water-resistant ear pad that handles sweat better than the Mackie's leather components. The Mackie is not designed for active sports use.
No, the Mackie headphones have an impedance of 32 Ohms and a sensitivity of 97 dB, meaning they are sensitive enough to be driven directly by most standard audio interfaces, phones, or mixers without needing a separate amplifier.
It is functional, but since it is a mono, single-ear headphone, you will miss out on the stereo separation and spatial imaging that the Mackie MC Series Professional provides. It is not the ideal choice for casual stereo listening.
Both products come with a manufacturer warranty. The Mackie offers a one-year all-inclusive, nontransferable warranty, while the Reloop provides a one-year manufacturer warranty, covering defects in materials and workmanship for both units.
