If elected, I will fight to prevent the Government from giving particular businesses an edge in the marketplace. I will fight against Corporate Welfare and Subsidy. I will fight to cut unnecessary spending, reduce taxes, and support legislation to bring down gas prices.
Many of the economic issues California faces are due to State intervention and involvement in the economy, and when the Government is the source of a problem, it's rarely the best solution.
When a lot of lawmakers talk about how they'll get the Government out of the Marketplace, what they mean to say is that they'll hand over Government services to State-formed monopolies, or only support loosening regulations when it benefits their particular corporate buddies.
Libertarians like myself, on the other hand, believe that no competitor in the marketplace should be given special privileges, and that all businesses should be able to operate with little-to-no taxes, fees, and restrictions, so long as they do not defraud or harm their employees or customers. Small businesses and competitors to major corporations should not be stifled due to regulations, subsidies, and Intellectual Property laws that bring those at the top to monopoly status.
