Mackenzie Dougherty is an artist based in New Jersey, and currently pursing her BA in Biology with a minor in Studio Art at the College of the Holy Cross. Her work centers on themes of the natural world and preserving family memories. She prefers working with graphite and charcoal. Through her passion for mixed media she also develops skills in watercolor, acrylic painting, and collage. Combining her love for science, Mackenzie begins each drawing with a scientific lens and to capture the beauty of the nature and genuine moments.
Beyond school, Mackenzie enjoys experimenting and capturing the world through her artistic creative expression. While she prioritizes learning traditional mediums, she also creates digital art and videos to hone her style and document her process in a fun, engaging way.
