Whether you’re looking for a unique cutting solution or you’re simply looking for a better way to cut pipe and tubing, Hautau is your answer. With our rotating-head tube cutoff lathe, precision cuts are made time and time again…and they’re done so with incredible efficiency.
This approach leaves all others – including band saws, cold saws, lasers, and conventional tubing far behind.
Rotating-Head Cutoff Lathe is Best
As it name implies, a cut and chamfer are made while the tube is held stationary between two chucks. This means both ends are chamfered in one continuous cycle. Since the tube isn’t spinning, the job is much safer for your team.
Included with each of our products is an on-board programmable setup that gives you the ability to program your lengths for optimum efficiency and minimum downtime.
Other Methods Simply Don’t Compare
Band Saws. Even though many people use them to cut tubing and piping, band saws have their problems. They’re notorious for leaving sharp burrs that can lead to trouble when secondary operations are needed. Because they’re unsteady at times, band saws tend to wear out rather quickly.
· Cold Saws. While it may be a step up from a band saw, a cold saw can leave rough edges because of the saw tips. As the blade gradually duller, the blade will need to be replaced.
· Lasers. The high temperature generated by the laser itself can lead to the tube becoming brittle, which is a problem for secondary operations. If your pipe or tubing has relatively heavy walls, lasers are not the right choice.
· Conventional Tubing Cutoff Lathe. While using this approach is a throwback to yesteryear, there are unfortunately several drawbacks for it. Tubes often become bowed from a vibration that can be so severe that it can cause a legitimate threat.
