These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your use of the MacGlow mobile application ("MacGlow", "the app").
MacGlow is operated by Luke Gallagher, an individual based in the United Kingdom ("we", "our", "us").
By downloading, accessing or using MacGlow, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the app.

MacGlow is a wellness companion that helps you understand how the food you eat affects the way you look and feel — your skin, energy, sleep, digestion, hair and nails.
MacGlow is not a calorie counter or a weight-loss app, and it is deliberately not designed to be used as one.
MacGlow is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice.
The information MacGlow provides — including Glow Scores, food analysis, Glow Coach suggestions and wellness insights — is general information for wellness purposes only. It is not a diagnosis, a treatment plan, or professional advice of any kind.
You should not rely on MacGlow to make decisions about your health. Always speak to a qualified healthcare professional about any medical concern, before making significant changes to your diet, and before acting on anything you read in the app.
If you have or suspect you have an eating disorder, or you have a medical condition affected by diet — including diabetes, coeliac disease, food allergies or any digestive condition — please speak to your doctor before using MacGlow to guide your eating.
If you are experiencing a medical emergency, contact emergency services immediately.
MacGlow identifies foods using a combination of photograph recognition, barcode lookup and text search, and calculates wellness scores based on general nutritional principles.
This analysis is automated and approximate. It may misidentify foods, misread labels, or return information that is incomplete or wrong. Barcode and product information comes from Open Food Facts, a public database we do not control and cannot guarantee.
MacGlow must never be relied upon to identify allergens or to determine whether a food is safe for you to eat. If you have a food allergy or intolerance, always check the product's own packaging and ingredients.
To use MacGlow you need to create an account, using an email address and password or by signing in with Apple.
You agree to provide accurate information, to keep your login details secure, and to let us know promptly if you believe someone else has accessed your account. You are responsible for activity that takes place under your account.
You must be at least 13 years old to use MacGlow. If you are under 18, please make sure a parent or guardian is happy for you to use it.
MacGlow is a subscription service. We currently offer:
Monthly — £7.99 per month
Yearly — £39.99 per year
Prices are shown in the app in your local currency and may vary by region. Prices may change; if they do, you will be told in advance and any change will apply from your next renewal.
How billing works:
Payment is charged to your Apple ID at confirmation of purchase
Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period unless cancelled
Renewal is charged within 24 hours of the end of the current period
You can cancel at any time in your App Store account settings, at least 24 hours before the period ends
Cancelling stops future renewals; your access continues until the end of the period you have already paid for
Your subscription is purchased through and managed by Apple. We do not handle your payment details and cannot process payments, cancellations or refunds ourselves.
Refunds are handled by Apple in accordance with their policies, and you should request them through Apple directly at reportaproblem.apple.com. We have no ability to issue a refund on Apple's behalf.
You agree not to:
Use MacGlow for any unlawful purpose
Attempt to access another user's account
Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile or interfere with the app
Attempt to circumvent the subscription or gain paid access without paying
Use automated systems to access the app
Attempt to disrupt or overload the services the app relies on
We may suspend or terminate your account if you breach these Terms.
Your food logs, photographs, notes and wellness data remain yours. We claim no ownership of them.
Almost all of it is stored on your own device rather than by us. Photographs of food and ingredient labels are sent for automated analysis as described in our Privacy Policy; by using that feature you grant us permission to process those images for that purpose.
MacGlow, including its name, design, images, scoring system and all associated content, is owned by us and protected by copyright and other intellectual property rights.
You may use the app for your own personal, non-commercial use. You may not copy, redistribute, resell or create derivative works from it.
We aim to keep MacGlow available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. The app depends on third-party services — Apple, Supabase, RevenueCat, Google and Open Food Facts among them — and interruptions to those services may affect it.
We may modify, suspend or discontinue features at any time. If we discontinue MacGlow entirely, we will give reasonable notice so you can export your data and cancel your subscription.
You can delete your account at any time in your Profile settings within the app.
Deleting your account does not cancel your subscription. You must cancel separately in your App Store account settings, or you will continue to be charged.
To remove the data stored on your device, delete the app from your iPhone.
MacGlow is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, consequential or special damages arising from your use of MacGlow, including any decisions you make about your diet, health or wellbeing based on information the app provides.
Our total liability to you, for any claim arising out of or relating to these Terms or the app, will not exceed the amount you have paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. If you are a consumer, your statutory rights are unaffected.
We may update these Terms from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page, and where changes are significant we will make that clear within the app. Continuing to use MacGlow after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the UK, you may also bring proceedings in your own jurisdiction.
