Pastor David D. Hobbs

Pastor David D. Hobbs is a native New Jerseyan who grew up in the Hobbstown section of Bridgewater, NJ.  In 1966 at the age of 12, he received Jesus Christ as his Personal Lord and Savior at Macedonia Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Horatius Green. On September 5, 1986 Pastor Hobbs had an encounter with God that would change the trajectory of his life. He and his new bride began going to Bible Study at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor James E. Dockery. He rededicated his life to the Lord and began attending New Believers Class under Pastor Dockery’s teaching. In 1992, after many nights of the Lord waking him up at 3 am, he finally answered the Lord’s call to preach the gospel. Under the mentorship of Pastor Dockery, Minister Hobbs preached his initial sermon in December 1992 and was licensed to preach the gospel. He was ordained on January 7, 2019 by Rev. Joseph Bethea president of the Garden State Baptist Convention. His charismatic style of preaching and humorous personality filters over into his sermons as he often uses practical anecdotes to capture the attention of the congregation. His ultimate desire is to see people fully embrace God’s love and to walk in victory and power while experiencing the fullness of God’s promises and to show dignity and compassion to all individuals. Pastor Hobbs is the 10th Pastor to be installed since 1922 at Macedonia Baptist Church when his grandfather, Pastor Amos Hobbs, founded the church.
