Welcome Back

Welcome to an exciting school year. It’s going to be INCREDIBLE! I can’t wait to see you on August 24. Are you ready for some fun learning adventures?

This year we will be busy learning through hands-on activities, group work, field trips, and creative projects.

• In science, we will do interactive activities and experiments as we learn all about the solar system, ecosystems, invasive species, rocks, light, sound, force, and motion. (We can even explore the science of cheeseburgers.)

• In social studies, we will travel back in time to learn about the history of America, learn more about our state, and the geography of our country. We will learn about economics and have a reopening of the MacDonald Mall.

• In math, we will learn to work with numbers in a variety of ways, explore geometry and use the BEAST ACADEMY math program. I hope you love math as much as I do!.

Did you know that you get to write and publish your very own book? Every year my class does a special project where we learn all about a grandparent then write and publish our very own books! In addition, we will expand our reading and writing skills through self-selected books, writer’s workshop, interactive notebooks, and much more! Every day we will have a time for read-aloud books. I found several new books this summer that I can't wait to share.

We will be working with computers and iPads and create Google Sites and Google Slides.

I've gathered your classroom supplies and filled your cubbies. There are two items you will need to supply yourself.

1) Earbuds or headphones to use with the iPads and computers. Find a pair that is comfortable.

2) A mask to wear in the classroom each day. I strongly recommend five masks - one for each day of the week.
