Prerequisites

Mathematics university students with some abstract ideas about algebra, for example, the basic theory of groups, rings, and fields. However, we start with the basics in the introductory lectures. If one needs to do some reading before the program happens, one may grasp these basic concepts from some standard textbooks, for example: 'Abstract Algebra' written by Dummit & Foote, or 'Algebra' by Thomas Hungerford.

Nature of school

To attend our training school, we do not impose any restrictions on the boundaries of religion, race, caste, gender, place of birth, or any of them. 

Advances in Mathematics

We would also like to mention that this training course on 'Homological Algebra' is a part of the Advances in Mathematics (AiM) School, organized by the MAC. This school intends to provide the Cambodian community with a good mathematical service, in the hope that they have a better learning and exploring opportunity of both established knowledge in theoretical and applied mathematics. After this school, we expect all the intended participants to change the very character of approaching mathematics and have great joy in exploring modern mathematics as much as we do. We also provide them with some study materials that are useful for them to pursue more advanced mathematics on their own, in the hope of becoming mature mathematical explorers.
