Code of Conduct

MABe aims to provide an environment for the open exchange of ideas, where everyone is welcomed and respected. We value the freedom of expression and discussion from all participants through all workshop activities. In return, we expect that participants will work together to ensure an inclusive and welcoming community for all. In particular, discrimination, harassment, inappropriate behavior, and scientific misconduct will not be tolerated.

Policy and Procedures

The following behaviors will not be tolerated at our workshop:

  • Harassment, which includes but is not limited to offensive comments based on gender, gender identity and expression, age, religion, race, sexual orientation, disability, medical conditions, or national origin. This also includes intimidation, stalking, and personal attacks.

  • Inappropriate and unprofessional behavior, including but not limited to inappropriate physical contact, unwelcome attention, harassing photography or recordings, or degrading language. This also includes disruptive conduct such as fighting, theft, or damage to property. Inappropriate virtual behavior is also included, such as Zoom bombing or harassing comments in chat.

  • Scientific misconduct such as plagiarism or falsification of results.

All participants at the MABe workshop are expected to comply with our code of conduct. In addition, we will not accept sponsorship from sponsors who use images or other media that are offensive in nature. Speakers and poster presenters should also not use any images or text that would constitute discrimination or harassment. Participants who are asked to stop inappropriate behavior are expected to comply immediately.

Actions

If any participant engages in behavior in violation of the code of conduct, the organizers will take action based on the violations. These actions can include, but are not limited to, verbal and written warnings to the offender, exclusion from workshop events with no refund, exclusion from future events, removal of material from online records, reporting to the relevant institutions and funding agencies, and reporting to law enforcement. Decisions from the organizers with respect to code of conduct violations are final. There will be no retaliatory action against any participant who reports potential violations or assists the organizers in investigating potential violations in good faith.

If you have any concerns about possible violations of the code of conduct, or any other concerns, please contact the organizers at: mabe.workshop@gmail.com. Unless requested otherwise, reports are treated as anonymous and confidential. We want all participants to feel safe, included, and welcomed at MABe.

Compliance to CVPR Code of Conduct

Since the MABe workshop is hosted in conjunction with CVPR, we expect participants to abide by the CVPR Code of Conduct as well. CVPR shares a lot of values with our workshop in the free exchange of ideas and knowledge and in creating a welcoming environment for everyone.
